Black Gold: Russian Lacquer from the 18th -20th Centuries

The Russian History Museum is delighted to share "Black Gold: Russian Lacquer from the 18th -20th Centuries." This lecture was presented by Nick Nicholson, a specialist in Russian decorative arts.

This talk considers a variety of lacquer objects and connects the audience to the century-spanning art form's layered history. Join Nick for a look at the world of Russian lacquer that existed before the revolution, and the lacquer work we now know from the Soviet and present-day lacquer centers of Palekh and Mstsera.
