BELLO, BUONO o BENE?
Have you ever wondered what's the real difference between these Italian expressions?
If you want to speak Italian properly and fluently, it is important to know how to use these words.
BELLO is an adjective and it is very used in the Italian language to:
- give a positive opinion about how someone or something looks
"Quella donna è molto BELLA" - That woman is BEAUTIFUL
- to say that something is well-done (that the result is good)
"Ho fatto un BEL lavoro" - I did a GOOD job
BUONO is an adjective as well and in Italian it is used to:
- give a positive opinion about something's or someone's quality (not aesthetic)
"Matteo è un uomo BUONO"
- to say that the taste or the smell of something is good
"Questa pizza è molto BUONA"
BENE is an adverb and it is responds to the questions "How?". It can be translated with "Well" in English.
"Maria parla inglese molto BENE" - Maria speaks English very WELL
"Io suono il piano molto BENE" - I can play the piano very WELL
