[Project] Tuba: J.S. Bach "Fugue No. 8 in A minor" for Tuba Quartet

This week's [Project] Tuba is actually my very first "project" during the Covid-19 pandemic. I recorded this a few months ago when I was musing around with the idea of adding more content to my Youtube channel, but I'm just now getting around to uploading it.

From his "18 Little Preludes and Fugues", this is an original arrangement that I made that features two contrabass and two bass tubas. I love the energy of this fugue, as well as the stately character of the subject. As with any fugue, I pay careful attention to ensure the different parts of the fugue don't cover up the main subject, which can often times be a challenge with large bass instruments. Of note this was also recorded in a less than ideal acoustic space (we have to make the best of things during the pandemic), so I apologize that the tuba sound may be a little more "raw" than my other [Project] Tuba videos. I have since relocated to a much better acoustic environment, which you can hear on my other videos! Hope you enjoy this great piece by J.S. Bach!!
