[Project] Tuba: Nelhybel's "Tower Music"

2021 is a year we are all looking forward to! In this [Project] Tuba exclusive, I perform Václav Nelhýbel (1919-1996) "Tower Music", originally composed for trombone octet. In this version, I have adapted it for contrabass and bass tubas, and I'm super excited to share it with you all.

If you are unfamiliar with Nelhýbel's compositions, he is a man who loved dissonance, but used it in such a world class way that the triumphantly harmonious moments are perfectly juxtaposed by the gut wrenching cacophony.

This is a piece I've wanted to perform for years, and I think 2020 is the perfect time, as this year has seen its most horrific nightmares and glorious victories.
