Can't do push-ups/extend Wrist: Treat the Scaphoid. A loss of grip strength and range of motion of the wrist can be very debilitating. Decreased wrist extension makes ground-based exercises like yoga, pilates, and planking very difficult. Often there is residual wrist, hand, and forearm pain after falling on an outstretched hand. The scaphoid bone of the wrist, one of the carpal bones, is often involved and pain is felt at the base of the thumb, especially at the end range of wrist extension. Learn how to easily locate and movement test the scaphoid to determine if it is involved in your complaints of wrist and hand pain.
