Mount Hood: Circumnavigating Hood and Summiting
The Mount Hood area is awesome. Lots of trails, trees, volcano stuff and endless natural floral arrangements. What starts out as a reported 38 miles run turns into a 44.5 mile beast with 11,000 ft of uphill, a lot of it on pumicite. With the memory of the run still making my legs throb I ascend the heights of Hood. I was warned several times about the thawing rocks breaking loose and charging down at me Indian Jones like, but the danger never materialized.
