Budget beast? | HP desktop M01 | Initial review

A video which was supposed to be about upgrading this machine ended up in trying to get the most out of this Athlon system.

Here is a pretty small little tower that I got off of the Ebay for around £30 which seemed like a decent deal for a system with a good upgrade path. These were mainly aimed at entry-level buyers and there were multiple variations availible (some of which still are) of both Intel and AMD based systems. Priced between £200-400 depending on the spec that you buy. (some of the cheaper ones even had laptop cpus lol)

Further more, the start of the show this time around is the CPU (an Athlon 300GE). A rather weird oddity that appears to be a slightly kneecapped version of the suprisingly popular, budget-oriented Athlon 3000G. On paper they seem to be quite similar however, the Athlon 3000G has a trick up its sleeve which is the fact that it has an unlocked multiplier allowing for some cheeky overclocking (many videos have covered that interesting topic).

So why don't we find out what the little modern-day Athlon is capable of?
