1975 national news feature on slugger Tony Conigliaro's second comeback try with the Red Sox

This video is a 1975 CBS Evening News feature on slugger Tony Conigliaro trying to make a second comeback with the Red Sox.
It was done by the legendary commentator Heywood Hale Broun, he of the powerful word pictures, prominent mustache, and loud jackets, as part of his stories on the world of sports for the network.
Conigliaro, whose vision was dramatically affected when he was beaned in 1967, and who missed the 1968 campaign, first came back in 1969, but after a few good seasons his eyesight worsened and he retired.
This later comeback didn't last long; Conigliaro made the team out of spring training but soon was designated for assignment and eventually retired again. But what courage to give it another try.
