Adult Beginner Violin - 1 year progress

I am 30 years old and I have been learning the violin for 1 year today.

I have wanted to play the violin since the 4th grade when a classmate brought her violin and her violin teacher to school and played a duet for show-and-tell one day. My parents didn't send me to lessons and I never had enough money for an instrument or lessons fees on my own until recently.
I dove head first into it, bought my own instrument and stared going to lessons regularly once a week for the first 6 months, and twice per week from months 6-9. When I moved back to the USA because of all the lock-downs, I couldn't find a teacher so I have been learning on my own ever since. I've mostly been learning with the Suzuki books with some Sevcik, Kreutzer and Hohmann exercises sprinkled in.

The past couple of months I've felt really down on myself, comparing myself to other "adult beginner progress" videos and feeling like I just don't measure up, especially considering I practice every day, and up until month 10 I practiced a few hours per day. But I have to remember, I'm doing this because I love it and if I'm a little slow at improving, so what? I'll get better.

I'll become a true LingLing (wannabe) someday, I just have to keep practicing 40 hours every day. ;)
