Ancient Chinese City of Luoyang Blends Modernity into Immersive Cultural Tourism

Luoyang City of central China's Henan Province - renowned for its rich cultural heritage - is integrating modernity into its tourist activities.

The Longmen Grottoes are caves where over 100,000 ancient Buddhist stone sculptures are housed.

At night, they come alive with lights and entertainment.

Technology like VR headsets put tourists into the action, enabling them to see restoration details like engraving.

Tourism officials say the aim is to keep young people engaged, and it seems to be working.

According to the local culture and tourism bureau, in the first quarter this year, Luoyang City received more than 41 million tourists and generated around 4.4 billion U.S. dollars in tourism revenue.
