'Queen Decides Royals Will Not Wear Military Uniform at Duke of Edinburgh's Funeral'

The Royal Family will not wear military uniform at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.

The Queen has decided that senior royals should attend the service in mourning dress.

It means Prince Harry will not have to face being one of the only members not in uniform.

Harry lost his honorary military titles after deciding to step down as a senior working royal.

The attendance of Prince Andrew - an honorary Vice Admiral – in Royal Navy uniform would also have raised issues, after he relinquished senior royal duties in 2019.

The decision is a break with tradition for ceremonial royal funerals and will contrast with the strong military presence which will be on show to honour Philip.
