"Tarzan the Ape Man" was a remake of the original Johnny Weismuller film of the same name from 1932, made by the same studio, MGM. It was directed by Joseph M Newman in 1959 and starred Denny Miller, a YCLA basketball star, ss Tarzan. Joanna Barnes played Jane Parker; Cesare Danova played Harry Holt; and Robert Douglas playes James Parker.
