Marc Martel - Nothing Else Matters (Metallica stairwell cover)

Totally forgot I had this video laying around! I was just thinking about Metallica, because they are currently doing a free online concert every Monday. Then I remembered how I was supposed to go to their show in Birmingham last year, but couldn’t, because I had a show with Black Jacket Symphony that night (who, coincidentally, are based in Birmingham, but I digress). But I started singing “Nothing Else Matters” to myself after soundcheck, so I went and found a very echoey stairwell to try out and idea I had: PHYSICAL FADE-OUT! If you watch to the end, you’ll see what I mean.

This is my favorite Metallica song, which I’m sure probably many of you share. Don’t quote me, but I think it’s their biggest song? I guess you could call it one of their few “ballads.” But, dude, that part where James goes “YEAH-YAYUHHH” and the band busts into the guitar solo though??? One of my favorite musical moments in popular music history, for sure.
