Raspberry Pi OS Fan Temperature Control [Howto 2021]
Control a fan using the Raspberry Pi OS based on processor temperature. Includes multiple methods: via fan PWM pin, and transistor control via EZ Fan 2 transistor breakout board.
EZ Fan 2 available on Tindie: https://www.tindie.com/products/jeremycook/ez-fan2-tiny-raspberry-pi-fan-controller/ (10% off orders of two or more, enter code: 7FE7CB1D - good through August 31st, 2021)
Previous video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1FQojoaNS8 shows a DIY transistor solution that will also work in the same manner.
0:00 - Intro
0:58 - Setup in @Raspberry Pi OS GUI
1:30 - Setup using terminal commands "sudo raspi-config"
2:08 - Pi and fan hardware hookup (12V fan)
3:04 - PWM control
3:11 - Stress test program heats processor - automatic fan control
4:15 - Simple fan with no PWM line
