Overlanding Australia:Ep 7 Crossing the flooded Outback- Birdsville to the Northern Flinders

In this episode we race to leave Birdsville before storms hit and travelled 519km to Marree in Outback South Australia where the bitumen begins. We put our Bush Company roof top tent to the test with wind gusts up to 70kph and 93ml of rain over night. causing flooding in outback south australia. After a couple of days the only open road became passable after the flood waters subside (although those without a snorkel needed a tow) and we headed south to Copley where we waited for the roads to the Flinders and Gammon (Vulkathunha) to open. we found some amazing camping in the flinders ranges.
Once the flooded roads and flooded creeks cleared we visited Arcoona Bluff, did the Wurtupa 4wd drive loop and explored the Italowie gorge before heading to Arakoola. We then headed south towards Blinman and stumbled across the Nuccaleena historic mine site.
