Turning Damaged Trees Into Veteran Trees - Southern Piedmont Chapter - January 2024
Patrick George, owner of Heartwood Tree Service, will start with an explanation of tree biology and structure in nature. Then, how we can intervene in the growth cycle to improve site impact, growth in man made environments and how to help trees survive the extremes in weather that we are already seeing. We’ll also hear about managing risk on older trees and how to provide peace of mind through reductive pruning. To prune or not to prune, that is the question.
Patrick started this company 40 years ago with a belief that trees can be more important than line items on a budget. An attraction to the mystery of trees has led to a devotion to the science of understanding how to keep them alive.
Our mission is to promote the enjoyment and conservation of North Carolina’s native plants and their habitats through education, protection, cultivation, and advocacy.
