Keystone Plants and Why They are Important To Us
Just what is a keystone species? You can have a garden full of a multitude of native species, but if you don’t have some keystone species the ecosystem will not be healthy or will collapse. This program presents what is meant by the term “keystone” and will cover many of the main keystone species in our area.
Judy West is a retired elementary art teacher with a love of the natural world and its amazing intricacies. She served as chair of the Triad Chapter of the North Carolina Native Plant Society for 3 years.
