There is volume associated with stocks and there is volume associated with options. They don't always mean the same thing. Options volume may be opening trades or closing trades, bullish, bearish or even neutral. The thinkorswim platform has tools to help filter possible bullish or bearish bias of options trades as well as defining unusually high volume. We look at and use these tools along with technical levels to make assumptions about the possible movement in the stock and then apply place sample trades to watch over the next few weeks to see how they work out.
