Famous Kalmyk folk singer Dmitry Sharaev plays the Saratov harmonica, giving examples of Kalmyk folk songs and dance melodies. In former times, the Saratov harmonica was widely played among Kalmyks living on the Volga river and shores of the Caspian Sea. Today, it is still considered one of the main instruments in Kalmyk folk music.
