Debbie from Dung a yaad Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Ingredients for the cake batter:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 stick butter
3 large eggs
2 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp vanilla
1 tsp yellow almond
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup pineapple juice
1/4 cup chopped pineapple chunks
1 tbsp white rum ( optional)

For the upside down part:
use a 13 by 9 heavy bottom casserole
12 pineapple slices
12 maraschino cherroes
1 1/4 stick butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
