One of my favorite things to tell people as an educator is that my brief history lesson on language is — we made it up.

Words are tools & shared definitions are extremely helpful. Still, in a world that grows ever more complex by the day, I like to remind people that words are just a way for us to share ideas.

If we get it into our heads that "growth mindset" is nothing more than it's single definition OR that it's too broad or ubiquitous to easily understand we are really missing out on the true value that is the research of Dr. Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D. & her research colleagues.
