💣 On January 16th, 2019, in the town of Manbij, Northern Syria, she was sitting in a restaurant with US personnel and Syrian partners. It was part of a routine meeting in a war zone; this is the kind of engagement that happens often in counterterrorism operations.

💥 Then a suicide bomber walked in, ISIS, not Israel. The bomber detonated himself inside the restaurant. Four Americans were killed, and Shannon Kent was one of them. This was one of the deadliest attacks on US forces in Syria.

📹 Surveillance footage shows the moment of the attack. The blast ripped through a restaurant in the city center. The Islamic State claimed responsibility. The targets were American troops and local Syrian fighters who were meeting there while on a routine patrol. Video shows troops evacuating a wounded American from a stadium nearby. The attack was the deadliest ever against U.S. forces fighting the Islamic State in Syria.

⚔️ Understand what that means: Shannon was killed by ISIS in the middle of a mission to defeat ISIS in a region that was a battlefield controlled by jihadist groups. This signaled the collapse of the corrupt Syrian state, compounded by years of Iranian and Hezbollah intervention.

❌ To now take that reality and fold it into an anti-Israel narrative that somehow blames Israel is not analysis; it is a rewriting of the battlefield. In order to make that argument, one has to erase everything else: ISIS, Bashar al-Assad, who turned Syria into a slaughterhouse; Hezbollah, which poured fighters into Syria to prop up the regime; Iran, which used Syria as a forward operating base; and decades of history, including Syria’s attacks against Israel in 1948, 1967, and 1973.

⚠️🕵️‍♂️ If you erase all of this, then, yeah, you might be able to construct a story where Israel somehow sits at the center of everything. But that’s not reality. That’s just the story.

🔥 What is happening right now is not theoretical. It’s not academic. This isn’t a seminar room debate. This is war.

🔥 If you take into account that Iran has actually had nuclear weapons capacity for at least 27 years and you take into account that we have deeply compromised military personnel in the Army, Navy, and USAF, suddenly Joe Kent makes as much sense as John McCain did.
