Class 73-hauled charter at Brighton, 25/07/09.
Some old SD footage of Flamboyant Trains' 'Brighton Rocks with AC:DC' charter which was a return trip from Doncaster to Brighton and featured haulage behind 87 002, 47 786, 73 205 and 73 209.
We first see the 1Z86 06:03 Doncaster to Brighton arriving behind 73 209 + 73 205 then 47 786 departs with the empties to the old reception sidings or "Brighton Top Yard" as it was known locally. Today these sidings have transformed and are now a Thameslink stabling facility for the class 700s. Prior to this, the last regular use was for shunting the stock from the Intercity (and later Virgin Cross Country) Manchester to Brighton service so the class 47 and local class 09 could change ends ready for the return working.
After the locos for this tour had done the same, we see 47 786 arriving at Brighton ready for the 73s to work the 1Z87 17:22 return to Doncaster.
