Here are the biggest and the grandest Projects in Southern Philippines (Mindanao).

5. Mindanao Railway project
The 102-km Mindanao Railway Project: Tagum-Davao-Digos (MRP-TDD) segment is expected to reduce travel time from Tagum City, Davao del Norte to Digos City, Davao del Sur from 3.5 hours to 1.3 hours once it starts operating in 2022.

4.Bukidnon Airport
Civil works continue for Phase 1 construction of the Bukidnon Airport Project located in Maray-maray, Don Carlos, Bukidnon.

As shown in the vlog, latest construction updates revealed earthworks which cover the airport’s huge area are still ongoing. Phase 1 (Site Development) costs Php272 million and is targeted for completion in May 2020. When completed, Phase 2 (Concreting) will soon start.

3.Tagum Flyover
The P2.7-billion Tagum City Flyover project, the biggest of its kind in Mindanao, is already 84.23-percent completed, and will be opened to vehicles by last quarter of 2021.

2.Davao City Bypass Road
The Davao City coastal road bypass project will traverse from Roxas Avenue to Bago Aplaya, cutting through NHA Kadayawan Homes, Matina Aplaya, and Bolton Isla. Three roundabouts (or rotundas) will be installed in the 35-kilometer coastal stretch at Roxas Avenue, Times Beach area, and Matina Aplaya.

The increasing population and continuous development of the Davao Region has led to the worsening traffic congestion within its major roads. The coastal road project will certainly abate and address the traffic congestion within the city.

1.Pangil bay Bridge
Panguil Bay Bridge is a proposed 3.77 km (2.34 mi) bridge which will connect Tangub, Misamis Occidental and Tubod, Lanao del Norte. The bridge when completed will become the longest water-spanning bridge surpassing the San Juanico Bridge.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the bridge was held on November 27, 2018. Although construction officially began on February 28, 2020.

The bridge is party funded under the Korean Economic Development Cooperation Agreement with South Korean firm Kyong-Ho Engineering and Architect Co. Ltd. involved in the construction. Expenses not covered by the loan will be funded by the Philippine national government.

Upon its completion, travel time between Tangub and Tubod will be cut from 2.5 hours to just a few minutes.
