I grew up in foster care and was homeless for 7 years.

Khalil was taken out of his home at the age of 2, after DYFS received a call that he had been physically abused by his mother. His parents were both addicts and his mother passed away of an overdose at the age of 6, his father was absent from the beginning. After a foster parent kicked him out, he became homeless for 7 years from the age of 19 to 26. In this video, he shares his story of growing up in foster care, what it was like to be homeless and the difficulties he faced adjusting to a stable life now, from the years of emotional and physical trauma.
