Picturing Perfection - "God, Art, Amsterdam and Visions of a Better World"

For millenia artists have used visual images as a door to see into a different 'better' world. This online event traces 500 years of utopian imagery from monastic art to modern art through the eyes of Dutch artists.

We’ll be exploring works from famous painters such as Bruegel, Rembrandt, Ruysch, Van Gogh and Mondrian (among others) and looking at how the Netherlands, faith and the city of Amsterdam influenced their vision of paradise, the good life and a better world.
