Building and Using Nurse-Led Registries for Clinical Science
This webinar, hosted by the CANS Clinical Nurse Science Special Interest Group, demonstrated the reasons for- and initial steps to- develop and use a nurse-led registry for generating nursing science. In this webinar, Dr. DaiWai Olson will present an example of an international nurse-led registry developed to characterize and track nursing care of patients undergoing neurological assessment. The principles presented in this webinar are intended to demonstrate the value of designing and developing a registry to be used for generalizable, longitudinal nursing science. These principles can be applied to many nursing interventions and clinical settings, and the webinar aims to provide a platform for discussion of the steps in registry development, registry components, and measures of success associated with the use of a registry in a clinical practice setting.
