Tropical Storm Laura Remains a Rainfall Threat

Laura has rapidly weakened after making a historic landfall near Cameron, Louisiana early this morning as a high end category 4 hurricane with winds of 150mph according to the National Hurricane Center. Laura remains a threat inland as tropical storm conditions are still ongoing, and an additional 4-6 inches of rainfall could still occur in parts of Arkansas, with 2-4 inches of rain possible over much of the interior of the United States. Laura will emerge off the Mid-Atlantic Coast as a post-tropical system this weekend, and may bring some impacts to Atlantic Canada before being absorbed by a trough early next week.
