Italian Citizenship by Descent - More Information About Important Dates (1912, 1948, 1992 & more)
It is important to consider the smallest of details and know a bit about Italian history when pursuing Italian citizenship by descent (Jure Sanguinis / Jus Sanguinis). Knowledge of some of the specific dates related to Italian citizenship can help, especially if you have to consider the specific rules related to the years 1912 and 1992. Or...if you are getting citizenship through a female ancestor, the date January 1st, 1948 can be especially important to understand what was going on in Italy at that point in history. In this episode of the Italian Citizenship Podcast, hosts Marco Permunian, an Italian attorney, along with video podcaster and dual-citizen expat, Rafael Di Furia ( @RafaelDiFuria ) talk a bit about the above-mentioned dates and the information that can help make the difference when pursuing Italian citizenship, even Italian citizenship through marriage.
