Prestressed concrete bridge on Viersener Strasse over the Hermann Piecq facility was built in 1967 as two separate superstructures. To save material, the bridge cross-sections are reduced. This bridge caused cracks to form in the supporting structures. New static calculations revealed further deficits in the load-bearing capacity. The load is exceeded in the area of ​​the ramp connection. The structural load-bearing capacity of the structure can no longer be adequately proven statically. To ensure traffic safety, it was decided to demolish the bridge. On each side, however, 3 old columns should be retained to support a new temporary bridge. Therefore, the remaining parts of the bridge are lifted off with the new Liebherr LTM 1650.
