Tacoma man accused of killing girlfriend, sending texts to her loved ones posing as victim

Tacoma police say a Pierce County man killed his girlfriend, disposed of her body, and used her financial accounts after her disappearance, according to charging documents filed Thursday.

Prosecutors charged 30-year-old Kendrick Deshaun Bruce with first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree identity theft, and unlawful disposal of human remains in Pierce County Superior Court.

Court records allege Bruce killed his girlfriend, a 37-year-old Tacoma woman, sometime between March 1 and March 28. Prosecutors also alleged the crimes involved an intimate partner relationship.
