In this video i am sharing my experiences on how to stretch - prepare canvas in easy steps. From scratch! Materials: Canvas Cloth, Plier, Stapler and of course a stretcher.

For 12 years from time to time i stretch my own canvases. When i sell artworks online i demount them and lots of empty stretchers remain. Why shouldn't we use them again!

As well as on the ground, you can start on a big table too. PS: Assistant is not obligatory to support the canvas, if your wood thickness is more than mine. And if your cloth is larger than mine, you can use the plier with big mouth too. Although i recommend to grab it upside down.

The process requires to be careful but it pays a lot, believe me.
