Palpatine(satisfied): “The time has come. Order Sixty-Six is already spreading across the galaxy. The Jedi will fall to their own troops.”
Anakin(hollow): “And the Temple?”
Palpatine: “Yours to destroy. The archives, the survivors…all of it…But Mustafar requires my attention. The Separatist Council waits there, unaware their war is ending.”
Anakin: “Then let me handle them.”
Palpatine(firm): “No. Mustafar serves another purpose tonight.”
Anakin(frowning): “What do you mean?”
Palpatine: “The Jedi believe this war ends with their destruction. They are mistaken. There are ancient powers tied to Mustafar… powers the Sith once used to shape empires.”
Anakin(uncertain): “And you’re going there alone?”
Palpatine(smiling faintly): “Some things can only be done by a Sith Master. You will remain here and lead the assault on the Jedi Temple.”
Anakin(after a pause): “Yes, Master.”
Palpatine(turning away): “Padmé remains untouched. When this is finished, I will teach you how to save her. But first, the galaxy must be remade. The 501st is waiting.”
Anakin leaves without another word. The office falls silent. Rain streaks across the city skyline.

Meanwhile, Padmé stands in silence as smoke rises over Coruscant and the Jedi Temple burns in the distance. The sight deeply unsettles her because the Temple had always felt permanent, almost like part of the city itself. Reports flood in across the capital claiming the Jedi tried to assassinate Chancellor Palpatine and that Anakin stopped them, but Padmé immediately doubts the story.
She knows the Jedi, especially Mace Windu, would have followed legal procedure rather than commit murder. As military lockdowns spread across the city and communication with allies like Bail Organa fails, fear begins to consume her. Realizing Anakin may somehow be involved, she places a hand on her unborn child, overwhelmed by uncertainty and dread.
Bail Organa’s ship holds position, hidden among civilian traffic. From orbit, the Jedi Temple is visible as a burning scar, smoke rising into the upper atmosphere while clone fleets lock down the capital.
Inside the ship’s holoroom, Bail activates a secured intelligence channel routed through his Senate contacts. What he delivers are fragmented Temple security feeds and clone-command transmissions intercepted during the chaos of Order 66…data smuggled out by surviving temple technicians before the system went dark. Obi-Wan and Yoda watch as the broken recordings assemble piece by piece: clone units entering the Temple, coded execution orders, and finally, a sequence from deep inside the Jedi archives.
The holorecording stabilizes long enough to show Anakin Skywalker…now Darth Vader…moving through the Temple corridors, leading clones into the Jedi chambers. The confirmation is slow, unavoidable, and devastating.
Obi-Wan refuses to believe it at first, searching the corrupted data for manipulation or Sith interference. Yoda, however, grows still, sensing the truth not just in the footage but in the Force itself. The darkness is centered in one man: Anakin.
As they process the betrayal, Yoda’s focus shifts outward. Beyond Coruscant, he feels another disturbance forming on Mustafar…Sidious channeling something vast. Realizing the urgency, Yoda prepares to leave alone for Mustafar. Obi-Wan remains behind on Coruscant with Bail, torn between confronting Anakin.
Hours later, Mustafar glows below the descending shuttle, a wound in the side of the galaxy, all rivers of fire and seas of ash.
Palpatine arrives on Mustafar and steps into the Separatist mining complex, welcoming the volcanic heat and the overwhelming presence of the dark side that has lingered there for ages.
Inside the war room, the Separatist Council waits nervously, believing the Clone War is finally ending and that Sidious has come to reward them for their loyalty. Instead, Palpatine ignites his lightsaber.
