China’s first astronaut, Yang Liwei, reported hearing mysterious knocking sounds while completely alone in space.

Orbiting nearly 350 km above Earth, he described the sound as someone hitting the spacecraft with a wooden hammer… even though sound shouldn’t travel in space.

To this day, the real cause of the sound remains unknown.
