Before and After - Cyclone Gabrielle - Railway damage in Waipawa

The Waipawa River in Hawkes Bay burst its banks, ran through town and scoured out the railway line.

Thanks to driver Cameron and Kiwirail for the cab ride just before the cyclone.

A NOTAM and drone no fly order is in force in the Hawkes Bay due to rescue and recovery operations, all elevated shots after the no fly order using a 6 metre "pole cam" Drone footage will follow when possible.

Drone footage in Waipawa shot 4 days before the no fly order imposed.
