I Landed A Mooney In 400 Feet

Mooney's are known for being fast, but did you know that they can also be slow? If I had a dollar for every time I've ever heard someone talk about Mooney's floating during landing, I'd be a lot richer. But if you know how to fly the plane by the numbers and control airspeed, the Mooney can actually takeoff and land relatively short. I went out and found exactly how short I could take off and land my '63 M20C model. The numbers were so short I even surprised myself. Overall, my 3 takeoffs were right around 600 feet and the landings were under 600 feet, with my best being 375FT FROM THE END OF THE RUNWAY!
