Daniel Brubaker, PhD, is a Rockwell Scholar at Rice University. His major area of research is scribal corrections in the earliest Quran manuscripts. He surveyed approximately 3000 pages of Quran text from the first three hijra; centuries for his doctorate, and many more as he prepares his monograph on the subject.
