I'm writing a 'composed liturgy' for Ely Cathedral and it is going to be BIG, much like the extraordinary building it's designed for...

Over 250 Cambridgeshire schoolchildren will join Ely Cathedral boy and girl choristers, Cathedral organists, professional orchestral musicians from the Britten Sinfonia, and Cathedral clergy and altar servers at Ely Cathedral on 22 June 2020 to give the first performance of Ad orientem: An Ely Liturgy by James Olsen.

The project will give hundreds of young people in the Ely/Cambridgeshire area an opportunity to perform alongside outstanding musicians in a unique venue, as well as introducing them to aspects of local history and music through educational workshops.

We have received over 87% of our funding for the project but still need to raise almost £3,000 to ensure that the project can go ahead as planned.

We therefore ask you please to consider donating to support this project. From as little as £10, you can be a patron of the commission and your name will appear in the published score.
