This Wainwright walk starts in Thackthwaite village, we follow a treeline run onto the fell. At the drystone wall we turn right. We continue right at the split. The left fork is our path down.

Tracing another wall up toward Hatteringill Head we continue left to our first Wainwright Fellbarrow. Before taking the down and up to Smithy Fell and skirting around Sourfoot Fell we get fantastic views down to Crummock water.

After reaching the summit of Low Fell as take in Loweswater Fell and then head back on the same path before branching off to take the gentle grassy path we saw earlier. Once we rejoin the low level path, it is an easy finish back along the tree line and into the village once more.
