Los Tres Santos Reyes

Puerto Rican Carol

Technically not a Christmas Carol - this one is about Epiphany - or Three Kings Day.
It is the Twelfth day after Christmas and in many Spanish speaking parts of the world - this is the day of presents. Honoring the Three Wise ones who travelled from the East bringing their presents. It also marks the beginning of Carnival which we in Galveston call Mardi Gras. A joyous season for certain when Catholics are allowed to eat meat (carne) before the coming of Lent.

The Three Holy Kings, the three and the three.
The Three Holy Kings, the three and the three.
We will greet you with divine faith.
We will greet you with divine faith.

The Three Holy Kings I know how to count.
The Three Holy Kings I know how to count.
Gaspar and Melchior and King Baltasar.
Gaspar and Melchior and King Baltasar.

They arrive at night with great caution.
and when nobody watches his steps.
They go to the child's bedroom.
They go to the child's bedroom.

Goodbye, because we're leaving now.
Goodbye, because we're leaving now.
All present have a happy year.
All present have a happy year.
