Homemade Ham Chim Beang or Chim Piang
The chim beang recipe
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp yeast
1 Tbsp baking powder
6 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
180ml water
Filling: 2 Tbsp five spice powder
1/2 Tbsp salt
1. In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, baking powder, sugar, oil and water and make into a dough
2. Knead until the dough is smooth and do not stick to the hand. Leave in oiled bowl and proof for 30 minutes.
3. Roll out dough into rectangular shape and spread five spice mixture evenly.
4. Roll up one end like swiss roll till the end.
5. Cut.into 1 1/2 inch thick and press flat. Proof for 15 minutes.
6. Heat up wok with oil amd fry at medium fire on both sides till brown.
7. Drain and cool.
8. Can be kept in freezer for later consumption. Rc
