These Fried Nian Gao Sesame Balls are similar to Jian Dui (煎堆), a dim sum favourite: sesame balls with lotus paste, red bean paste or peanut filling. The only difference is these are filled with gooey sweet Nian Gao (Sticky Rice Cake / Chinese New Year Cake). Made with glutinous rice flour and mashed sweet potato, then generously coated with white sesame seeds, finally deep fried to a golden perfection!
