How GOOD Is Celtic's 16 Year Old WONDERKID Karamoko Dembele ACTUALLY?

While representing both Scotland and England as the youngest on the park holds itself as an amazing feat, his club success is undoubtedly the reason for the excitement and anticipation surrounding this young prodigy. Having joined Celtic at just 10 years old it didn’t take long for him to catch the attention of Brendan Rodgers, who had Dembele training with the first team and at aged 13, Karamoko was put to his biggest test when brought on for celtic under 20s facing players up to seven years older. It was at this point the worlds attention was brought to Dembele.

Since then Dembele has continued to put in impressive performances on a regular basis winning the Glasgow Cup earlier this year. Fans at Celtic park have waited years for the teenage phenom's first team debut, and In Celtics final league game of the season Dembele was called up to the first team squad against Hearts, a preview of the scottish cup final and a team Celtic have always had trouble with. The edinburgh club famously ended Celtic's 69 unbeaten streak last season, and hoped to spoil the treble treble part also at hamden park may 25th. Hearts had also beaten celtic on the first day of the season and were keen to make a statement the day Celtic were to celebrate their league trophy. With the game at 1-1, Celtic had gone flat and needed a step of urgency, it was then when head caoch neil lennon looked to a young Dembele, and at just 5’3, 16 years old he officially made his first team debut.
the kid immediately had an impact, turning his defender for dead, firing down the right wing, cutting inside to almost score a beautiful solo goal before dazzling supporters with his quick feet that contributed to the a winning goal in the 84th minute.
His performance earned him a place on the celtic dugout for hamden's cup ffinal, where he perhaps would've been featured if it weren't such a close game. Understandably Lennon favoured the more expeirianced sinclair off the bench. But Karamoko's time will come, just from watching him play I am already sold. That stop and start quickness and close ball control is messi like. The way he gets right back up when opposing defenders are left with no choice but to foul him, this kid is the best prospect to come out of scotland i've seen in my lifetime. I wanna go back to what I said prior to last year's world cup final about mbappe, players who can be great take time to grow into their potential, but the truly special ones are already at that level. Every level Dembele has played at so far, he's looked like the best player on the pitch. Whether it was his debut for celtic's reserves just in october last year, to his pro debut not even a year later. I expect Karamoko to be a huge piece for Celtic next year, he's highlights are going to continue to go viral all of next season. When he's getting kicked lumps out of by big scottish defenders and making them look silly with solo goals. I'm telling you just don't see kids this talented in this country, I've been sold on the kid the day I saw him run rings roun xavi simons and those barca youth teams. What both Celtic and Karamoko need to do, is make sue he stays at Celtic for at least another 2/3 years. Going to a major club would just harm his development, too many times whether it's martin Odegaard or someone else these young wonderkids go to a top club. Only to overstay their welcome in the reserves and eventually end up a shell of the player they were poised to be.
