Building a Spruce Bark Canoe - E1 - Harvesting Spruce Bark

In this episode I search for a massive spruce bark to gather for a canoe build. The canoe will be based off of a model from 1895 from Edwin Tappan Adney's book on bark canoes. I will be building the whole canoe with materials gathered from the forest. Spruce bark canoes were usually built as an alternative when good birch bark was not available for a birch bark canoe. They were also built as temporary canoes to cross certain bodies of water.

I will be releasing a video every week on the canoe build process. Please subscribe and follow along the canoe build !

Special thanks to my father in law, Claude for his hard work collecting the bark and transporting it all the way up a hill !
