Roberto Murolo, Grand Master of Neapolitan Song, Sings "Core 'Ngrato."

Roberto Murolo (1912-2003), Italian poet, playwright, journalist, composer, guitarist, singer and scholar, is one of the great figures of Neapolitan intellectual and cultural life. In 1963 Murolo published his magisterial "Chronological Anthology of Neapolitan Song." He was a brilliant singer, and is considered by many to be the ultimate singer of Neapolitan songs, even though this song literature is more commonly known to most opera lovers as a staple of almost all operatic tenors and baritones. He accompanied himself with guitar, as a rule. Here is a masterful rendering of the very well known "Core 'Ngrato."
