'Covid was just a trial run for a disease far worse' – Oxford ethics professor | SpectatorTV

Two bioethics professors at the University of Oxford discuss Covid. Professor Julian Savulescu says: 'This is just a trial run for what could happen, and we haven't done very well. This is not as bad as it can get. Within 10 years, tens of thousands of people will be able to make Covid or smallpox in a back yard laboratory. So we are really on the brink.'

His colleague, Professor Dominic Wilkinson, talks about the value of life. He says: 'Life has value to everyone who wants to stay alive. All of us have reason to want to live for longer.'

Professor Julian Savulescu is director, and Professor Dominic Wilkinson is the medical director, at the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics.
