Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway - 'End of Season Parade' 26/10/2019

Marking the end of their main running season for the year, the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway put on a show for their annual 'End of Season Parade'. To ensure the season ended with a bang, the day featuring no fewer than 6 steam locomotives in operation, alongside resident Diesel No12, all rubbing shoulders with visiting "Shelagh of Eskdale" from the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway.

The event featured a variety of services pounding RH&DR metals. The start of the day was marked with a double-headed parallel run from New Romney to Hythe, before normal service took over with regular passenger trains throughout the day, and frequent double-heading, including the "Peter Rothschild Thank You Non-stop Express". No4 "The Bug" made a rare appearance over the full line length, working a solo trip from New Romney to Hythe, before leading the 'Multi-Header' down to Dungeness and back to New Romney with three other locomotives to mark the end of a successful day.
