Opening march 2024 Perth Highland Games as Perth and Brechin Pipe Bands lead Chieftain Gwen McAndrew

Drum Majors lead the combined Pipe bands and Chieftain for the opening march of the 2024 Perth Highland Games. These were held at South Inch in the City of Perth, Scotland, on Sunday 11th August 2024. The Drum Majors are Kenny Forbes with Perth & District Pipe Band and Derek Boni with the City of Brechin Pipe Band, both playing Green Hills and Tyrol and When the Battle's o'er.

The Chieftain for the 2024 Perth Highland Games was Gwen McAndrew, widow of Paul McAndrew, an RSPBA director and Chairman of the local branch, who was instrumental in bringing the European Championships to Perth. Gwen is a member of the City of Brechin Pipe Band and the European Pipe Band Championships were held at the site on the same day.
