An one hour TV special on the late mediacorp artist Huang Wenyong.

SINGAPORE: Late television icon Huang Wenyong will receive the Honorary TV Award, at this weekend's "Star Awards 2013 Show 2" in recognition of his contributions to Singapore's television industry.

A one-hour television special will also be produced to mark his death on Saturday, after a brief bout with cancer.

"Remembering Huang Wenyong" will air on April 29, at 8pm on Channel 8.

Leading up to the TV special, the spotlight will fall on Huang in several specials on Channel 8.

Chinese current affairs show, "Frontline" will air a Huang Wenyong special on Friday, April 26,at 10.30pm on Channel 8.

The next day, on April 27, there will be a special broadcast at 2.30pm of the best scenes from the sitcoms "Don't Worry Be Happy" and "Lobang King" which Huang starred in, along with an episode of the talk show "CelebriTea Break" where he appeared as a guest.

This will be followed by a re-run of the film "Homerun", in which he played the head of an poor household. This will air at 2.30pm on April 28.

The 60-year-old actor, who is best known for his role as Ah Shui in the classic 1984 drama "The Awakening", died of lymphoma in hospital on Saturday.

A special tribute segment was added to the "Star Awards 2013 Show 1" on Sunday, following news of his death.

The short memorial video was played after the audience observed a moment of silence to pay tribute to the late star whose funeral takes place this week.
