Isang Yun - Contemplation

“Contemplation” for two violas is a single-movement work by the Korean composer Isang Yun, completed in the summer of 1988 while vacationing in the Swedish locality of Sweg. The beauty of the local Nordic lake landscape inspired Yun to conceive and compose the work. The composition, written in a Western framework, incorporates Eastern (specifically Korean) techniques as seen in its rich ornamentation.
